About Me

Hello! I’m Hafiz, a Malaysian in Australia. I completed my first degree in Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) before pursuing my passion in Computer Science. I am currently working as a software engineer. Using ‘medical approach’ in diagnosing a tech problem gives a greater accuracy and more effective solution. I am open to exploring the integration of technology in the medical field.

I am a huge proponent of GNU philosophy (though not to the extent of RMS) and a strong believer in freedom of choice. In my spare time, I coded mobile applications. My first app GMCalculator, a chess rating calculator was launched on Android platform, and it is a proud outcome from my self-learning app building. I am proficient in Java and comfortable with many of UI and UX libraries. I have expertise in designing websites from basic personal websites to building an e-commerce website. Rapid design is made using Bootstrap and I am capable of building web application with python using Django framework.

I’m also an avid fan of astronomy, and I’m on a constant quest to understand the world of ‘others’. I am also a FIDE Rated chess player with experience as Malaysian Chess Player competing for chess olympiad and national tournaments.
